Nuggets Fire George Karl?!!!!
Absurd. Absolutely absurd. I mean I understand that in the current scope of professional sports, patience is absent. I get it. Coaches need to win immediately. Fans are impatient and can barely sit through rebuilding seasons at all levels of professional sports. But Karl WAS a winner. His 1,131 career victories and .599 winning percentage is more than impressive. People tend to forget that Karl took his Nuggets to the WCF against the Lakers a few years back. I cannot believe it. I guess when you win a Coach of the Year award, you also get fired. According to various sources, the Nuggets are reaching out to other potential candidates, such as Lionel Hollins. I can't fault the Nuggets for wanting Hollins as a head coach. He's a great leader and always coaches teams that overachieve (except for the WCF this year, but that was more due to Zach Randolph's ridiculous slump). Anyways, to fire George Karl is still a bold and questionable decision. Sure, the Nuggets flamed out in the playoffs, but he still had the playing great team ball. They also lack any star of any kind (unless you count Ty Lawson) and were heavily outmatched in terms of talent against the other teams in the West (Spurs, Clippers, Thunder, & Grizzlies). Well, hopefully Karl doesn't retire. If he decides to continue coaching, some team is going to get a great coach.
